Will forever be Clark dressing up as Green Arrow and kissing Lois 🤣 So damn fun to watch, especially Oliver’s and Jimmy’s reactions.
I honestly forgot how good S6 is purely for the characters alone…Lex is fully a villain and vying with Clark for Lana, Justin Hartley is such a good GA and really charismatic (and hot ofc) and then you have Jimmy and Lois who are so damn entertaining.
Really loving the dynamics, and Clark and Oliver really work well together

2022.01.17 04:25 geekchick2 Dress Code for IT intern at Accenture

I am trying to calm down the nerves of my very worried step daughter who is starting an internship at Accenture in the data division, doing integration and development . Her "never have worked a day in my life" mother and 83 year old grand mother are insisting that she goes corporate , with heels and fancy suits. I worked in corporate IT till 2019 and wore jeans and T shirts , unless we had client meeting when i would wear black pants and a casual top. Of course IATA in their books. Anyone on here have any idea what is worn at Accenture ?

2022.01.17 04:25 CyanideBoba A question on the book Мы by Yevgeny Zamyatin

I am reading this dystopian masterpiece right now, and I grew curious about the naming system (or you might say numbering system) in this book. In this book, each person is named by a combination of one alphabet letter and a several-digit number. Men are assigned consonants and women are assigned vowels. So which do you think the author intended: 21 letters for men and 5 letters for women (Roman alphabet), or 20 letters for men and 10 letters for women (Cyrillic alphabet)?

2022.01.17 04:25 Snoo-3168 Why do my teammates suck?

All of a sudden every match I play I get tragically lost teammates who I genuinely question shouldn't be playing this game. It's fucking astonishing. Every time they make a dumb mistake they top it 30 seconds later.
I'm not even talking about conventionally "bad" players. I'm getting people that don't get relics/starters, play their lanes, play the right roles, have no understanding of health bars or any mechanics whatsoever and I mean that literally. This is beyond ridiculous. These people play like their parents sat down a 5 year old in front of the T.V. You can't even try to teach them because apparently they're mute and illiterate.
I'm not one to bitch but what the fuck Hirez? Where's the consistency? All I'm asking for is the bare minimum. I can compensate for and tolerate newbies. Who cares? But I literally just played a game where I had like 95% of the kills out of 50 with 100k damage dealt compared to my four 0K/10+D partners. I seriously don't remember being this ass when I first started and I had never played a League game before and I'm NOT that good. This is in no way a boast. They just suck that bad.

2022.01.17 04:25 Cain_Ward What it Takes to Win

Cain was not given much time to prepare for the fight by the mobsters, they had already had someone pull out of the fight and wanted to get him in there quick. Cain had no intentions of pulling out of the fight, however, he was going to take that Karkarodon for all he had and more. They had told him the odds on the fight in case he wanted to bet: ten to one. Fairly abysmal odds, but he had worked with worse.
The first thing he did was find the nearest loanshark and borrow as much as he could from them. As it turns out, when you’re brand new and unknown it’s surprisingly difficult to get anyone to give you any amount of money, let alone a few thousand credits. He eventually found one loanshark that agreed to give him five thousand credits, though he wanted seven thousand back from him. Cain had a feeling that he wouldn’t be able to get away from the loan sharks so made a note to give them seven thousand credits as soon as he was able to.
Returning to the cantina, Cain made the arrangements to have the five thousand bet on himself during the fight with the gang’s bookies. The bookie gave him a small scoff and his ticket, confirming his belief that they were thinking he was simply going to roll over and die in the ring. But Cain had no intention of dying tonight, he had what it took to win. He returned to his room and tucked his ticket inside his jacket pocket and took out his commlink, sending a message to Miss Corvo.

Found work on Ord Mantell, will set aside a cut for the boss when you’re ready to pick it up.
He grabbed the remaining credits from under his mattress and made his way back down to the cantina proper. It seemed somehow even busier today, he figured it was people pregaming for the fight tonight. He sat down at the bar and counted everything he had left. Only thirty-nine credits. Well, at least if this plan of his didn’t work out he wouldn’t have to worry about being broke anymore.
The Kel Dor bartender swung around and already had a shot glass ready but Cain raised his hand. “No drinks for me tonight, I need a clear head for the fight. Just get me some food and put it on the tab for my room. I don’t care what it is, I just need something to eat,” Cain sighed and tapped his fingers on the counter in seeming boredom.
This was, quite possibly, the worst idea that he had ever had.
The food arrived and he quickly devoured it, realising halfway through that he hadn’t eaten yesterday either. His stomach began to growl more intensely and he ordered another dish of whatever he had just eaten. He assumed it must be some local dish, though it truly didn’t matter to him at this point. He would either be rich by the end of the night or dead.
The next few hours were a blur of him desperately trying to remember everything that had been beaten into him by the trainer, that fucking bastard of a man. He drilled them hard and beat them harder but he could never shake the feeling that the trainers actually cared for them in their own way. He looked down at the large and soulless tattoo on his right forearm, forever engraved into his skin and reminding him of the past.
He traced the lines of the tattoo in a forlorn manner and remembered his fallen brothers in the fighting pits. All of that blood, all of it spilt for nothing. He softly chuckled to himself that the first thing he was going to do as a truly free man was return to the pits once more and spill blood for no reason other than the money.
Eventually, it came time to go and when he looked up from the bar there were two burly looking men waiting to escort him away. Cain stood and went with them, letting them lead him through winding alleyways and a set of stairs that led to a rather unceremonious durasteel door. One of the guards knocked on the door and a tattletale droid popped out of the side, inspecting them and making rather unhappy sounding noises. The droid retracted just about as quickly as the door did and Cain was lead inside.
Led to a small room, Cain was dropped off inside and instructed to change into what they had for him. Cain opened the rusted locker and found just a pair of shorts and some wrap for his hands. Quite literally couldn’t be a worse kit, but he supposed he would have to make due. He slipped off what he was wearing and stuffed it into the locker before putting on the shorts and doing his wrapping, making sure that it was tight around his hands. The last thing he wanted was to break them while fighting that fish.
He was shortly collected by the guards and brought to a narrow hallway where he could already hear the ruckus that was presumably going on in the stands. He felt the blood rushing through his veins as the adrenaline entered his system as it had been trained to do. He took a few deep breaths and heard the sound system click on from inside of the arena.
“Ladies and gentlemen of Ord Mantell! This is the night you’ve been waiting for! Your champion has returned for more! Blood and gore will be spilt in the pit tonight for your entertainment and amusement! Introducing the reigning champion, the Megalodon!” the announcer bellowed, threatening to be drowned out by the cheers of “Meg! Meg! Meg!”
Cain watched from the other side of the chain-link door as the large Karkarodon from last night burst out from the opposite side of the ring, letting out a guttural roar. Cain observed him and noticed that his feet seemed to have been cropped in some way, probably to let him more easily walk on land.
“Now introducing the challenger! Standing at six foot four, weighing in at two hundred and twenty pounds! Scarface!” the announcer continued, the cries of, “boo!” and “fresh meat!” truly threatening to drown him out at this point.
The door in front of Cain slid open and he simply walked out, cracking his neck and swinging his arms. If it was a spectacle they wanted, it was a spectacle they would get. There was no referee in the pit, unsurprisingly, just a clock on the side and a bell next to it. He glared at the Meg, taking up his stance and raising his fists in a southpaw stance. He could still hear the trainers in the back of his mind, berating him on his stance.
Suddenly, the bell rang and the Karkarodon charged forwards at him, immediately slashing at him with his presumably razor-sharp talons. Cain ducked to the left and delivered a quick jab to the back of his hip before retreating further back. Cain didn’t know a whole lot about Karkarodon’s but he knew that he didn’t want to find out how sharp those talons were.
The Meg was quick to spin to face him, his toothy visage on full display as he bore down on him, claws outstretched and ready to kill. Once again Cain ducked but he didn’t foresee the next blow that came across his chest, a sharp sting wracking his body as the blood began to flow. Ignoring all pretext of defence for a moment, he rose and delivered a hard uppercut to the Karkarodon’s jaw and watched as the teeth came flying out. He immediately followed up with a sharp left hook that gave him enough space to pull back and resume a defensive stance.
The fact that Cain had managed to last any time at all was apparently a shock to many in the crowd and the commentators, who he vaguely heard proclaim, “I don’t think anyone has ever survived this long! This is a groundbreaking fight!”
Cain’s mind was more focused on the Meg, however, watching as he turned back to face him with bloodlust in his eyes. The shark gave out another roar and charged Cain, bringing his claws up in a wide uppercut that grazed the right side of his face. He felt the blood begin to trickle down as he punished the Karkarodon for overextending, planting his foot firmly into his chest. He heard the crowd cheer as the Karkarodon found his footing, launching into another attack.
He backpedalled away from the broad strokes of the Karkarodon’s claws until he found himself up against the wall with few options left. He weaved between the talons that were thrown at him, waiting until the shark was worn out before he struck. Finally, Cain sensed a change in his pace and launched himself into the Meg, landing blow after blow onto his body. Just as he thought he might overcome him the Meg seemed to find some strength and lashed out, lacerating the side of his leg open. Struggling to put weight on it, he fell back onto the defence when almost miraculously the bell called out.
Cain disengaged and limped back to his door and watched as a very surprised medic emerged. Cain slumped up against the wall and the medic started pulling autoinjectors and bandages out of his bag and began applying them to his wounded body. The bleeding and pain subsided after the injections and the bandages were hastily applied to cover up the wounds. Cain stood once the medic left and managed to put enough weight on his leg to stay up during the fight.
Almost immediately after the door shut on the medic, the bell sounded and the Karkarodon was on him. Cain could see the rage in the shark’s eyes as he bore down on him once more, claws outstretched and eager to take more flesh. Taking advantage of his rash advance, Cain delivered a heel kick directly to his head and felt the hard crunch of the Karkarodon’s skull against his heel as the Meg slid across the floor. Chasing after him in the hope to finish the fight, Cain was caught by surprise when the Karkarodon rose with surprising agility and bit him on the shoulder. Cain roared in pain as the Karkarodon’s teeth sunk into his flesh and began to thrash. Seeing his now exposed gills, Cain took his free hand and plunged it into them, gripping them as hard as he could. The Meg almost immediately retracted and held his left gills, but Cain was quickly on him. He sunk his teeth into his right gills and felt the warm and sanguine fluid rushing into his mouth and he pulled back, ripping his gills out.
Cain spat them out onto the ground and closed in on the rapidly exsanguinating Karkarodon, raining down blow after blow to his unprotected head. It wasn’t long before Cain came to the conclusion that the fish was now dead and stepped back from his lifeless corpse, staring up into the now-silent crowd. He extended his arms as best as he could and walked around the ring, demanding to know one thing: “Are you not entertained?! You paid for blood and gore to be spilt and you received your entertainment, your spectacle! Is that not why you are here?!”
The calls of “Scarface! Scarface! Scarface!” began to fill the arena as Cain simply turned and limped back through the now open door at the side of the ring. He was promptly attended to by the medic who worked quickly at sewing his shoulder back together before applying some more bacta bandages to his wounds. He thanked the medic and quickly changed back into his usual clothes before limping back to the cantina to collect his winnings.
At the cantina he saw the bookie in the corner, looking rather unhappy. Cain pulled the ticket out of his pocket and nearly slammed it down on the table and slid it forwards for him. “You weren’t supposed to win, you know. I wanted to give you worse odds, thank the Force that I didn’t. Your winnings are in the back room, follow me,” the bookie sighed, getting up from the table and leading him into a different side room than the training area.
Cain staggered after him but was still able to keep up, entering the small and dimly lit room. The door shut behind them and almost immediately a gangster pressed a blaster to the small of his back. “You should’ve died in the ring, kid. Sorry I gotta do this, but you gotta do what you gotta do,” the gangster growled in his ear.
Cain spun and felt the blaster bolt pass through his waist, though he still managed to muster the strength to fight his attacker. He managed to wrestle the blaster away from him and unloaded it into his chest before spinning around to face the bookie.
“Woah, woah, woah, you’ve got the wrong idea kid! They made me do it, okay! Look the money is in the safe, just don’t kill me and I’ll open it for you!” the bookie pleaded, holding his hands out in front of his face. Cain simply flicked the blaster in the direction of the safe and the bookie got to work unlocking it.
“See? This has more than enough to cover your bet, and it has the credits from the entry fee in it! You could take that as your winnings, huh?” the bookie near grovelled, shuffling away from the safe and Cain.
Cain kept the blaster levelled at his chest as he hobbled towards the safe, murder in his gaze. “Please…” the bookie begged as Cain pulled the trigger and sent a bolt straight through his chest. Looking into the safe it appeared the bookie wasn’t lying, there had to be at least one hundred thousand credits in there. He took the larger denominations and shoved them in his jacket pockets and then pilled his pants with as many as he could but he still was unable to get all of it. Still, it was a serious take and more than enough to get him set up on the planet.
He stopped to strip the holster off of the dead gangster and clip it to his own side, he holstered the blaster at his thigh and left the small room. The cantina appears to have been cleared by the blasterfire, so Cain placed a five hundred credit chip down on the bar to pay off his tab before wandering out into the cold Ord Mantell night.
