2021.12.09 00:56 carrieflw Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith ◾️ A deep insight of the force and human behavior ◾️

In Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, we have a somewhat different approach into what is the regular line of the movies. It's an approach that gives us a deeper understanding of all the Star Wars Saga and particularly about the Jedi Order and the Force. Even though it's an action/adventure movie (like all the other films obviously), it also has a planned and thought through argument and wide perspectives about life and what makes us human, in all its spectrum.
With this movie, we begin to understand the depth of the force and how it affects an individual. This kind of comprehension can also give us a further analysis about the human behavior.
The main understanding, lyes in how we can comprehend why Anakin Skywalker "turned into" the famous Darth Vader and what made him do that. When we are born, according to psychology, our brain is similar to a white palette, only with a few brushstrokes in it. What defines us as persons, is what kind of environment we grow up in. That's what determines what kind of brushtrokes, that we already have, could be enhanced (good and/or bad ones). Although Anakin, for some part of his life grew up training with Obi-Wan, the mother issue always remained present with him. Furthermore, the fact that the Jedi's from the council never viewed him as one of their one, fearing what they sensed that could be ahead, the situation particularly was not handled well by the council, they became arrogant and self-absorved with the power, not giving Anakin comprehension, when they could just have had a conversation with him starting with: "You can talk to us about what's upsetting you, we want to help you.". From those moments where they rejected Anakin, things just started to escalate... Anakin not feeling heard and not being perceived as one of them by the council and other Jedi's, the death of his mother which consequently made him fear the death of Padme and so on. While this was happening, Anakin, was of course very fragile and easy to manipulate, which was precisely what Emperor Palpatine did. Watching from a distance but knowing where to act and what to say in order to get Anakin turn to the dark side of the force, luring him to it, to be consumed by rage, fear , and basically what defines the dark side of the force. Anakin, being born with both negative and positive traits (because appart from psychopaths or sociopaths, no human can be born evil), the environment in which he grew up in determined what kind of person he would become, or, in "Star Wars language", what side of the force he would """""choose"""". Looking back to Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, when Qui-Gon Jinn decided to take little Anakin to be trained as a Jedi Knight with the justification that he would bring balance to the force, he was right. No force can overflow with only good energy (light side), and no force can overflow with bad energy (dark side), there has to be a balance between both of them to have harmony, and that's precisely what Anakin (future Darth Vader), in Ep. III brings to it (considering the arrrogance and self-absorption of the Jedi's at that time). On the other hand, Anakin's son, Luke Skywalker, in the future brings harmony to the force, but with the difference of carrying only the light side when the force at that time was overflowing with bad energy. In conclusion, in Episode III, we have a in-depth insight about what makes us human in every aspect of it. What is the balance/force, and how it works.

2021.12.09 00:56 Stolizino SLDP inaugural day on the NASDAQ

Greetings all, my first post on this forum.
Many longs would like to see SLDP hit $50 and above tomorrow . I'm not among those them. Although I'm anticipating a solid day tomorrow and a nice follow through next week, I'm not certain I want to see a large pop on Day One. QS made a moonshot and fell to earth precipitously, burning many who didn't know what they were doing.
This time, I believe prudent investors and traders are likely to be more circumspect, and that's fine with me. I think a realistic first trading day closing price would be in the neighborhood of $30, not wildly hyperbolic, but high enough to generate buzz and potentially a decent follow though on Friday, followed by the publication of analyst price targets over the weekend.
If it should hit $50 or above tomorrow or by Friday, I'll be selling out at a handsome profit and sitting on the sidelines with cash available to reenter at a lower and more sustainable share price, or at the very least, take half of the table, including my $15 call options. My ultimate game plan for this stock is to trade call options and use the profits to build my common stock holdings.
This is going to be a long haul and I believe acute traders and patient LT investors will be richly rewarded.
Currently long 500 shares at $11.70 and five contracts Dec 17 $15 strike calls @ $0.90. Been trading stocks and options for more than 30 years, and at this point I do it for recreation and pin money.

2021.12.09 00:56 TheManIsNonStop [MILESTONE] Keep Rolling Rolling Rolling Rolling

May 1963
Rails are only part of a railway. The other part is, predictably, things to run on those rails. Currently, Afghanistan is in short supply of rolling stock. Locomotives, freight cars, flat cars, passenger cars--if you can name it, Afghanistan does not own it in sufficient quantities to operate a modern, nationwide rail system. What few locomotives it does own are old steam engines--mostly built in the 1920s and 1930s--that it inherited from the British Raj. While these, once converted to standard gauge, are sufficient for the existing traffic on the lines, which is mostly limited to service between Kabul, Peshawar, and Abbottabad, and export/import traffic to the Afghan-Pakistan border, their age is already starting to show.
Fuel Type: Electric, Steam, or Diesel?
When searching for new locomotives for Afghan Rail, the first question is one of what type of locomotive to buy. There are three main power sources for locomotives: steam, diesel (which includes diesel-electric and diesel-hydraulic--a distinction that is less important here), and electric.
Steam is the oldest of the three power types, dating back to the advent of the locomotive in the early 19th century. Due to its age, it is also the cheapest type of locomotive, in terms of up-front costs: most railway operators around the world are in the process of retiring, or have already retired, their steam locomotives, meaning that second-hand steam locomotives can be had for pennies on the dollar. Another significant benefit is their fuel: steam locomotives run on coal, which Afghanistan has in abundance, between coal reserves near Quetta and in Afghan Pakhtunkhwa.
However, steam locomotives are being phased out for a reason. Steam locomotives have lower tractive effort than comparable diesel locomotives, have higher operating costs (maintenance is a pain for steam locomotives), need several hours to warm up enough to begin operating, and require more crewmen to operate. All in all, steam locomotives would save Afghanistan money now, but would end up costing more between increased maintenance, decreased load size, and a shorter lifespan (new locomotives would have to be acquired within a decade or two). Not the best option.
The next power type is electric. Electric locomotives are powered by overhead power lines, and excel on routes that require frequent stops, as they can speed up much faster than comparably-sized diesel or steam locomotives. Electric locomotives also enjoy significant benefits in fuel efficiency (power stations are much more fuel efficient than locomotive engines), performance in mountains (regenerative braking when going downhill provides a significant portion of the power needed to move trains back uphill), and lower operating costs (since there’s no combustion engine in the locomotive). However, they have significantly higher up front costs than both steam and diesel locomotives--not because the locomotives are more expensive (they actually tend to be cheaper), but because of the infrastructure needed to operate them (overhead power lines, power plants, etc). In a poorer country like Afghanistan, where much of the country has no reliable access to electricity, this is a difficult issue to overcome. While electric locomotives might be worth considering for the future, for the time being, the only planned line where they could realistically be used is the Khyber Line between Kabul, Jalalabad, and Peshawar.
The final power type is diesel. Diesel locomotives are powered by an on-board combustion engine. Though they have lower peak power output than electric locomotives, they tend to have higher tractive effort, meaning they excel at hauling heavy freight loads long distances. Moreover, though they cost more to buy and operate than electric locomotives, they are capable of operating just about anywhere that there is track without additional electrical infrastructure. In a country like Afghanistan, where electrical infrastructure is still undeveloped in most of the country, this makes diesel locomotives ideal.
Shopping for Trains
With these considerations in mind, Afghanistan is looking for three different types of locomotives.
First is a diesel-powered locomotive for freight traffic. This locomotive is intended to make up the bulk of Afghan Rail’s traffic, shipping agricultural goods, mineral goods, and construction materials across the country and to foreign markets. Afghan Rail has decided to purchase a number of older Soviet TE3 locomotives, which will be re-gauged at the border to allow them to run on the Afghan rail network. This is expected to be most common locomotive in Afghanistan for the foreseeable future, though Afghan Rail only really intends for it to serve as a stopgap solution until it can procure newer TE10 or M62 locomotives.
The second is a diesel-powered locomotive for intercity passenger traffic. To avoid having to pull a generator or boiler car during winter months, Afghan Rail heavily prefers locomotives that are capable of providing head end power, which rules out Soviet trains. Looking for some non-aligned countries to buy from, Afghan Rail has decided to procure the Swedish-built NOHAB Di 3. The Di 3 was selected over its main competitor, the German V 160, due to lower unit cost (the Di 3 is a little older) and a convincing marketing pitch in Turkey back in 1955. These locomotives can be delivered either overland through the Soviet Union or by sea through ports in Iran or Pakistan. Afghan Rail plans to buy a decent number of these trains (more than the ChS2, less than the TE3/10), as they can also be used for light to medium freight loads.
The final type is an electric locomotive for passenger service on the Khyber Line. For this purpose, Afghan Rail is pursuing the Czechoslovakian ChS2, one of the primary passenger locomotives on electrified routes in the Eastern Bloc. These trains will be transported by rail through the Soviet Union to the Soviet-Afghan border, where a bogie exchange will convert them to standard gauge for use in Afghanistan. Since these locomotives are only going to run passenger service on one line, Afghan Rail is only buying a handful of these and their accompanying railcars.
In addition to these locomotives, Afghanistan is also planning to purchase a number of German-built V 60 shunting locomotives, which will provide railyard service. In a pinch, they can also be used to pull light freight trains or passenger rail, but this is hardly their preferred use.

2021.12.09 00:56 jumpsteadeh What is the attribute in SSEedit that determines whether an armor makes you puff your arms at or hold them at your sides?

I have an armor I made in game with 2 versions: hands at sides, and arms puffed out. I think I left off while troubleshooting this. I just want to change something about the armor and play wearing it, but I can only find the .nif and location in SSEedit of the one with puffed out arms. So I need to either learn how to make this arm's arms limp at sides, OR find the .nif of the other one - and of course the file names don't line up. They're both named after the mod file but only one is in THIS mod, so I think I edited the armor of a different mod to create the arms at sides version. I just have no idea where it is, other than in-game. Could I use the first 2 letters of the in-game code for the item to find out which mod loads it?

2021.12.09 00:56 SchnerpAdvice Why isn't Forsaken free yet on the Xbox Store?

As the title says. I've been playing on Game Pass and had a note in my calendar to redeem Forsaken after 7th December. Why is the "Forsaken pack" is still on sale (for a non-free amount) on the Xbox store? Yesterday (the 8th) I checked and it still cost about AU$30. I've logged in today and it's "on sale" for $11.98. It is supposed to have been free for several days already, and we're seeing different non-zero prices. What's up with this?

Sometimes it sucks because I can kind of tell that you wouldn’t mind falling asleep and waking up next to me. It sucks because we both know we want to. Sometimes it sucks because I can kind of tell when you want to cuddle up next to me. It sucks because we both know we want to. But there’s this huge wall we’ve built and let it stand in the way of anything between us becoming bigger all because we “know we shouldn’t.”
Idk, sometimes I’m just tired of it.

2021.12.09 00:56 Annalyse_ Is my cat sleeping through the whole night?

My 18 y old cat has always slept in my parents room because she loves our dog (and how warm she is). Recently, she has been sleeping in my room instead. Every night I fall asleep to her purring and falling asleep on my pillow. Lately when I wake up she has been in the same spot she was when I went to sleep. Is she sleeping the whole night? I thought cats were most active at night? Should I be concerned? She does have cat dementia which I read can make them sleep more
